Missions Homecoming 2007

We just completed our Mission’s Homecoming Week. It was filled with love, faithfulness and great joy in the Lord. He blessed us in so many ways i.e. renewed fire in our bones for missions, renewed friendships and new friendships forged with our mission families.

I want to thank Kendall Suh; Betal India, Paul and Susan Shotsberger, Valya Grenchuk; Ukraine, Warren and Miriam Rich; Kenya and Isaac Anguyo and Elly; Aringa. You traveled thousands of miles to share the love of God and to give us insight into what the Spirit of God is doing around the world. Words can not describe what this meant to all of us. You truly are a blessing from God to the people you have been “Sent to” and to the one’s who “Welcomed you Home”.

All of our missionaries were prayed over corporately as we worshiped together giving thanks for all of you. The only thing that could have made it better was to have all of you with us in body not only in Spirit.

Our next mission strategy at Myrtle Grove is to develop Co-mission home groups where members bring your family into community with them when they meet for the purpose of; strategic prayer, building relationships and serving you in more practical ways. I would like to make a personal calendar for each missionary family to give to your Co-mission home group. Consisting of dates you supply us with i.e., travel dates especially when you will return home or trips you know of in advance family needs; babies being born, kids in college who have exam week or birthdays, special family events or seasons that are particularly stressful for your family Ministry schedules that will need concentrated prayer.

By supplying us with this up front in the beginning of year we will be able to serve you in a rich robust way. During the year we can add to the personal calendar as other things come up. Hopefully this will keep us in good communication and it will not be cumbersome to you.

I believe these co-mission home groups will be a blessing to you in many ways. Not only will they provide you with greater prayer support but could also become a fertile ground for people to come along beside you both here and with you on the field with short term missions trips.

May God bless you richly in all areas of your life!

With great love and appreciation,

Peggy Laney
